MissSunshyne plays CS:GO & Cooks in 12 hour Stream for Charity!
MissSunshyne, on Friday, April 5th starting at 10 am and finishing at 10 pm!
The rise of Twitch.tvDid you know that fundraising events are evolving with new technology? If you aren’t an avid gamer or a casual member of an online community, you may not be familiar with the online streaming service known as Twitch.tv. The website is formally known as ‘Justin.tv’ decided to stick to gaming content, as they witnessed most of their live streamers were in fact, playing video games. Streamers and viewers are able to interact with each other (through a twitch provided chatroom) while playing some of their favorite games! When a streamer rises themselves through the ranks, gaining their own specific fan-base, the options of entertainment are almost limitless. Here, streamers can find their niche to really build a following that understands them as a person, and also as a gamer.
About Sierra aka MissSunshyneWe met Sierra earlier this year and could instantly feel her vibrant charm. The 25-year-old full-time streamer from Melbourne, FL started streaming back in September 2017. We conversed with Sierra over her twitch history, and says she “started [streaming] for fun, and it eventually turned into a full-time job”. Sierra continues, “I have a background in marketing and graphic design”, and “I really enjoy working with people”. This came as no surprise. Sierra’s energy, humble atmosphere, and personal interactions are all second to none. When you typically enter Sierra’s chatroom with a ‘Hello’, she almost instantly acknowledges you and makes you feel welcome. “Streaming is a really good way to use a lot of my talents, and it’s been a great experience!” She even has a movie viewing experience with her subscribers, one Sunday a month. Now that’s valuing your community!
Where are the donations going?Have you ever been stuck at home with no possible way to explore the land around you? Unable to experience a new setting due to the lack of immediate funds? These thoughts are a reality for Anita Rutland, who was diagnosed at 38 with the rare disease called Porphyria, that left her in a wheelchair. As a former Emergency Medical Technician, she is now in need of your support! We are hoping to make a big dent into Anita’s fundraiser with your help! All of your donations will be going towards a wheelchair accessible vehicle, so she can finally get out of the house and live her life again.
What we have planned for the Stream!A typical Twitch stream definitely does not run over 6-8 hours. Sierra will be putting 12 uninterrupted hours into this charity stream! This will only be her second 12 hour stream, as well as her very first stream dedicated to charity. This brings her quite the excitement. We are in high hopes to raise at least $1,250 for Anita Rutland! Over the 12 hours, she plans on streaming the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Rated M for Mature). We also plan to have a few donation goal incentives, such as pieing her husband in the face! That’s not even all of it. Sierra also regularly hosts a cooking segment on her stream! When coordinating for this event, Sierra went out of her way to ask what Anita’s favorite dish was, so she could make it LIVE on stream. A gesture we did not expect! Giveaways are a standard for charity events on Twitch. Dreamscape Foundation’s fundraiser is no different. We plan to giveaway CS:GO and Dreamscape merchandise, random steam keys, and even a $250 Amazon Gift Card! (Depending on your donation tier) MissSunshyne also plans to host her own giveaways, one of a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Gun Skin (AK47 – ‘Bloodsport’ Skin) and one of her home-baked cookies! (Only ships to North America) All one needs to do to enter, is to donate to Anita’s cause during the stream and we will work out the rest! We so look forward to all the fun happenings April 5th, 10am-10pm EST, and we hope you are too. We look forward to seeing you there! Next »« Previous

VipersHere Grows His Audience and More on Twitch
If you haven’t heard the Twitch handle “VipersHere”, we won’t hold it against you. He only hit the gaming stream about 6 months ago, and even then only began to take it seriously in September. However, that doesn’t mean you should underestimate him. This up-and-coming Twitch personality has been on an upward climb with more than 1,500 followers on his channel and growing by anywhere between 30 to 50 followers a day.
Who is VipersHere, Anyway? So who is the guy behind the screen? His name is Sean Peterson, and like many of us, he’s no stranger to the gaming world. The 20-year-old streamer began his love affair with gaming at the age of six. “I think the first game I ever played was Alien: Resurrection on the PlayStation,” he said. “I just fell in love with gaming and kept up with it over the years.” Now as his channel increases in traffic, he is stepping up his game by partnering up with various Pro players on the Twitchsphere. The collaborations draw in new viewers, giving him greater exposure.
Exposing the Unseen Grind Behind StreamingDespite the rapid growth of VipersHere’s channel, it didn’t come easily. A lot of hard work goes into building the young streamer’s audience. “Sometimes it is difficult,” he admitted. “I have friends and family that want to make plans with me and sometimes I just can’t hang out or be with them because I have a stream to put on. When you have a set schedule and you don’t stream on one of those days, your viewers get upset.” When asked how he manages to juggle them both, VipersHere said, “You just have to know how to balance the two.” The advice is easier said than done, but with discipline and dedication, it’s achievable. Plus, streaming isn’t exactly a lonely gig. VipersHere has a highly engaging audience, which he interacts with through the stream and through Discord, a popular chat platform for gamers. “My community is great,” he professed. “Everyone there is super friendly and communicative to each other. I have a very loyal community put together and they are extremely welcoming to the newcomers!”
VipersHere Has Goals He Aims to StrikeVipersHere is working avidly toward his goal of becoming a Twitch partner, yet that’s not the only thing on his plate. On December 7 and 8, he plans to partner with Dreamscape Foundation execute a 48-hour long charity stream with only two 1-hour long breaks in between. The cause? Raising funds for Audrey Pickett to afford one-on-one training sessions at her local YMCA that will help her develop the strength to keep living independently in spite of being wheelchair bound. To learn more about Audrey, you can check out her story here. As December inches closer, we hope you’ll join us as well on VipersHere’s stream as we put the spirit of giving into the holidays, along with a bit of fun! Next »« Previous
TikTak Takes on Charity Stream for Dreamscape
RoundedTikTak is relatively new to the Twitch realm, yet he’s quickly gained the attention of viewers and game developers alike. All it takes is one session to see why. The 30-something-year-old gamer brings to the table an entertaining personality and addictive streaming experience that will remind you of a night out with your favorite crew. But it isn’t always just fun and games on TikTak’s stream. Sometimes he opts to raise money for a good cause. This November he’s using his platform to collaborate with Dreamscape Foundation on a life-changing charity stream to raise money for two brothers with LHON.
Streaming with a Charitable “Twitch”This isn’t the first charity stream for TikTak. The last one he did alongside another streamer was for an organization founded by Linkin Park called Music for Relief Foundation. The program dedicates its time, funds, and efforts to helping communities and individuals affected by natural disasters, including recovery and rebuilding efforts. The 12-hour event originally set the bar at $500 in donations. Instead, it blew past its goal to hit $1,400. “For a smaller time streamer, it’s not bad at all,” TikTak said. His next charity stream takes place at 9 am EST on November 18. This one is for the Jongsma Twins, a pair of brothers who are working hard to raise enough money for eSight Eyewear in order to help them redeem some of their vision. When asked why he chose to help Dreamscape Foundation in this effort, TikTak said, “I like that their goals are individual… You know you’re helping out these two young men. That’s much more acute than some broad, obtuse goal where you don’t know where the money’s going. [Dreamscape’s staff] seem like very nice, caring people and that’s what we’re all about. If I can help out, I want to.”
A Look at TikTak’s Unique FlavorIf you aren’t deep in the trenches of Fortnite streaming, you may not be familiar with TikTak. After all, his debut on Twitch was only in July of 2017. However, if you’re a fan of live gaming and a good time, it’s the perfect place to chill. His alias comes from an old Xbox gamer tag, which he added “Rounded” to when TikTak was already taken. It’s simple, it’s efficient, and (like his stream) it packs a lot of flavor. TikTak is a niche streamer who plays Fortnite every morning. In fact, he’s one of the original streamers and content creators for Fortnite Save the World. As a host, he prides himself on creating an entertaining environment where people can laugh and have a good time without having to deal with trolls, hate speech, unsolicited promos, and just plain bad behavior.
Creating a Digital Hangout for AllWhile TikTak’s stream is about 30% women and 70% men, it’s 100% equal in acceptance. No matter who you are, it’s a safe environment to hang out, chat, and catch some high-quality Fortnite action. “I look at myself as a TV show,” TikTak explains. “I try to have everybody come in, relax, and let me do my job of giving you a few laughs in the morning. It’s like a night out at the bar with your friends.” Those who hang out can chat directly with TikTak, who makes it a point to try to interact with everyone during his stream. Attendees can participate in giveaways, TikTak Tag-a-Longs, request songs, and play in-chat games. Many wonder how he managed to create a successful streaming channel so quickly. It’s quite a feat. Yet when asked what he would say to anyone who wants to follow in his footsteps, his words are purely encouraging. “If you have something you are really passionate about, make sure you give it a shot,” he said. “I didn’t know anything about streaming. I learned all of it from scratch on my own through YouTube. So if you’re thinking about getting into it, you can absolutely do it. It just takes time, consistency, patience, and a little bit of stubbornness to make things work sometimes.”
An Epic Adventure Lies AheadJust before the upcoming charity stream, TikTak’s going on a grand adventure to the headquarters of Fortnite’s creator, Epic Games. “I have this chance to go and meet a bunch of people from Epic Games’ headquarters, that literally owns the largest game in the entire world right now…and I’m one out of 5 people [to receive the invitation]. That’s amazing. That is kind of like a dream come true.” What this journey entails, he can’t say. However, he will be sharing whatever details he can during the charity stream on November 18th. To find out more, make sure you tune in! Next »« Previous
Twitch.tv and Fundraising
Thursday, March 15th, 2018 popular streamer Ninja was playing the game Fortnite with superstars Drake, Travis Scott, and Pittsburgh Steeler WR Juju Smith-Schuster. The stream was viewed live by right under a million different people. Twitch is a great fundraising tool because it provides such an all-encompassing video platform to build an audience, promote awareness within the community about a charity and through 3rd party resources bring in donations to achieve goals. Twitch holds the top spot as of now for leading video streaming/gaming domain and with more and more initiatives gaining success through the community it will be exciting to see how Twitch will continue to grow and expand into an even more useful resource for charities and other organizations.
