Love Is In The Air, And So Is Raising Funds For Accessibility!

Everyone in the world has been affected by accessibility advancement, though some more than others. That’s where Dreamscape Foundation comes in! As our very first Stream Team fundraiser of 2022 kicks-off, we wanted to introduce everyone to our hand-picked Charity Streamers this week!

Jessyabeb Draws Attention To Disability Awareness

Jessy, aka Jessyabeb, is a former mental health nurse turned freelance digital artist and variety streamer.  She is someone who has personal experience streaming for charity in the past like the b-present foundation which works to help educate and support young adults with cancer, along with “It Gets Better“, an organization that works to uplift, empower and connect with LGBTQ+ youth all around the world.

Jessy is selfless enough to help raise funds with Dreamscape Foundation because she finds herself an adult living with a disability. Knowing the experience first-hand, Jessy wants to help in any way she can. Viewers can expect a lot of art streams during the event, along with some Spelunky 2. “I will have some art up as donation incentives! I’ll also be doing some more viewer interactive stuff like marbles and some other games.” Jessy explains.

    TheSaffronMan Raids For Accessibility

Meet Saff, also known as TheSaffronMan! Saff has had a lot of experience volunteering, ever since he was young. Things like summer camps and charity volunteer work to name a few. Where does all this inspiration to do good come from? In our interview with Saff, he mentioned that his late grandmother who had Parkinson’s was a massive role model for him, and continues to motivate him to this day!

For our Charity Stream with TheSaffronMan, the plans are to play a variety of games during the week; from Raid: Shadow legends, Halo Infinite, and GeoGuessr. The fun to be experienced is limitless! Saff also intends to mix it up with music and interact with his community by chatting on any relevant topics. Saff wanted to extend his support and that is how we met HWZ67!

    HWZ67 Lends A Helping Hand

Coming in later to the Stream Team is Kofi or HWZ67! Kofi is known throughout his chatroom as a Teacher and a Musician, especially for his interest in creating meme music. His streaming journey began at the end of 2020 as he wanted to connect with more people in the Raid Shadow Legends community.

As an Elementary School teacher, HWZ has constant exposure to fundraising at his school, as well as some volunteer work with an organization called “Hosea Helps” who help families with a wide range of services, based out of Atlanta, GA. When asked why he wanted to join in this Valentine’s Day event, HWZ told us that ” I genuinely enjoy helping others! My fiancé and I are always talking about charity work so I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity. She was very happy when I told her.”

    JohnKozlov Blasts Off For Charity

Now introducing.. John Kozlov! John happens to be a full-time programmer, while also working as a part-time content creator. During our interview, Kozlov mentioned that he sees himself as a perfectionist who likes to do everything to the next level. Our new streamer friend is known to have a deep passion for simulation games, especially the Star Citizen universe which became one of his favorite games.

John Kozlov started streaming as a way to find like-minded people with whom he can share common values and ideas. After all said and done, Twitch streaming ended up as one of his greatest passions. Kozlov mentions that “It helped me evolve and express myself better.” We are very happy that he joined our week-long charity, and even though this is his first charity stream, we are happy to have him a part of our growing Valentine’s Day event Stream Team!

    Sarcastickelly Welcomes Donations For Dreamscape

Meet Kelly, another friendly streamer we found on Twitch, where she is known as SarcastiKelly; A name her chatroom said fitted her perfectly – due to the fact that her sense of humor is very silly and ironic! As a self-described introvert, she always seems to make sure everyone feels included. According to Kelly, she is very reserved and quiet with people she hasn’t met before.

Although this will be the first Charity Event for Kelly, we can tell that she is very excited to lend her support! As she described in our interview, “This is something that I have always wanted to do and it’s just always been a question of when or how?” She explained ”I have always wanted to get into raising money for charities, there have just been so many questions and not knowing where to start. Once I got in contact with Dreamscape Foundation and got a good understanding of what they do and trying to achieve, I realized it’s something I wanted to be a part of.”

“Mental illness is something I’m way too familiar with, both myself and in my family, and I’ve always felt like it’s rarely taken seriously. I think that’s why I’ve grown to be so passionate and empathetic about wanting to help people, whether it’s to help someone move, or just be there if someone wants to talk, or just cheer someone up to make them forget about something that’s bringing them down if only for a moment.”

During the Charity Event, we can expect lots of fun, goofiness, and nothing but great time. Sarcastikelly adds “Not only will there be giveaways, but there will also be donations that’ll trigger certain actions that change the way I play whether it’s being blindfolded or choose what build/weapon to use, but you could also decide a future cosplay or a game to play and much more.”

How You Can Help Share The Dream:

We appreciate what these amazing streamers are doing as a part of giving back to Dreamscape’s disabled community. This Charity event will be filled with fun and passion from different people all around the globe. Let us all gather and unite to raise $5,000 in the spirit of Accessibility and Valentine’s Day.

All week long, February 7th to February 14th, 2022 we will be LIVE on Twitch and Tilitfy raising awareness of Dreamscape Foundation’s cause. Depending on an individual’s amount donated, donors will be eligible to win a variety of prizes, from multiple redeemable steam keys, to Dreamscape merchandise like T-Shirts, Magnets & Drawstring Backpacks. If you have anything to give, this is an amazing cause. Help us Share the Dream!

We are happy to announce that Sh0wtig3r continues to support Dreamscape Foundation and our cause to make life easier and more accessible for people with disabilities.

    Sh0wtig3r is Back with Support!

You might remember Brianna Ritchie, better known to her Twitch community as Sh0wtig3r. She hosted a charity stream for Dreamscape Foundation this past May! Ritchie has been doing great in the past few months since we spoke to her. According to our updates, “Since the last time we spoke I have received a promotion at my office job which is helping my boyfriend and I get closer to our goal of moving back home to Vermont in Summer of 2022.” Brianna explains.

    Brianna’s Favorite Holiday Traditions

As she gets ready for her first Giving Season fundraiser with us, we asked about her favorite parts of the holidays: “Since I am the youngest in my family, I was always peeking around during the holidays to find where my parents hid the gifts. It was always a blast brainstorming with my older siblings on where the new hiding place was and if the parents would catch us. In the end we never found where the gifts were hidden, probably because my parents knew we were looking for them, but it was always a good time just laughing.” We here at Dreamscape are guilty of gift hunts as well!

    Round Two for Accessibility

Our good friend Brianna excitedly accepted our call for action due to our previous work and our mission statement. She quoted “I love working with Dreamscape not only because of the passion of the staff but also because of the mission statement. Dreamscape goes above and beyond to do everything they can to help get their message across including making great bonds with content creators by working together for a great cause. I enjoyed working with Dreamscape in the beginning of 2021 and I am excited to be working with them again with hopefully more to come in the future!”

Dreamscape is counting down the days for our collaboration! Her cheerfulness and creativity are an inspiration to everyone she interacts with. One of Brianna’s favorite memories from her 1st charity stream with Dreamscape was having to draw a goatee using an eyeliner on her face, and wearing it for the remainder of the stream! She made this one of her higher incentives – and her community made sure that no matter what, she was going to look silly for charity.

This time around, she has a few returning ideas from her last charity stream, “…googly eyes and of course eyeliner facial hair, but I look forward to sharing some of my secrets that I have up my sleeve. We will be streaming for 12 hours on December 4th and it is going to be jam packed with fun!”

A Big Thank You To All

Sh0wtig3r concluded our interview with a heartfelt message: “I just want to thank everybody for taking the time out of their day to help support Dreamscape in any way that they can. With it being the holiday’s even if you cannot physically donate which is more than okay, spreading the word helps just as much!”

Together with Sh0wtig3r, we Invite you to watch our Charity Stream on Saturday December 4,2021 at 3PM to 3AM EST. We hope to see you there as we attempt to reach our $500 donation goal!

Mist Haven is Going the Distance for our Disabled Community!

Mist Haven is Going the Distance for our Disabled Community!

Mist Haven Charity Stream April 16th-18th 1:00PM EST 59 Hour Stream-A-Thon At a young age, we are not only taught to share, but that sharing = caring. This idea plays a crucial role in a child’s development, but fails to teach the other side of sharing. The truth is that sharing is hard; it takes a lot of self-acceptance and courage. The more difficult the story, the harder it is to share. When someone does open up about their own struggles, they become a shining light for others. One of these lights is Lauren Donlevy, better known as GhostHostLauren, who is the Assistant Head of Admissions for the Twitch charity stream team Mist Haven.

    Mist Haven: The Origin Story

Mist Haven was created in October of 2020 by Donlevy’s good friend, not mention Twitch Partner, Lexicat. “When she ended up getting partnered in October, one of the big things that she wanted to do as a streamer with a chronic illness was start a team to help raise money for charities or people that might need quality of life upgrades,” Ghost Host Lauren explained. “And to continue the conversation about ending stigmatization with having a chronic illness, whether it be mental or physical.” Lexicat and Lauren have both been open about their own struggles and through the Mist Haven team they are not only able to talk about their experiences, but raise money for others in need.

    One Day At A Time

“It is actually still fairly new to me; I was only formally diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety disorder, and everything after my sister passed away in 2017,” Ghost Host shared. “I do talk about how I overcame that grief, my own coping mechanisms; but you know, time does heal a lot of wounds as much as I hate to say it.” She has also been open about the fact that at first her coping mechanisms weren’t the healthiest, and how it took time. Donlevy is a firm believer in the mantra, “One Day At A Time,” for both physical and mental health.

    Community is Everything

For Ghost Host Lauren, the best part about streaming is the community. She loves being able to connect with people and ultimately build friendships. “Despite being a huge goof and just doing silly things on stream, I hope that people feel comfortable being serious and talking to me because I can absolutely flip the switch,” she confessed. “I want people to feel like they can watch my stream and have that sense of comfort and laugh; but then also feel like they can reach out to me if they need anything.”

    59-Hour Charity Stream

Did someone say charity stream-a-thon? Join Dreamscape Foundation as we partner with Mist Haven for their second ever charity stream-a-thon! Mist Haven is kicking off their 59-hour stream-a-thon with the amazing Ghost Host Lauren this Friday, April 16, at 1 pm EST. “It’s just a big raid train of community and charity,” Lauren described. “We have it going through the night, so really no matter what time it is you will find someone on this stream.”

Don’t Watch Me Play Spreads The Love During Dreamscape’s Valentine’s Day Charity Stream

DontWatchMePlay Valentine's Day CHARITY STREAM 1pm-8pm EST www.Twitch.tv/DontWatchMePlay According to motivational speaker Ken Blanchard, “Feedback is the breakfast of champions.” I believe if this was true that many of us would be skipping breakfast. Receiving feedback is not typically something that is welcomed with open arms, unless you are Cory Campion that is. “Feedback is absolutely always appreciated,” he shared. “I have no problem talking about it and trying to work towards bettering the channel and bettering myself as an entertainer.” Campion, better known as Don’t Watch Me Play, is a YouTuber and Twitch Streamer who believes people are always growing and can always change for the better, himself included. “Being myself and being genuine to everyone who comes by is just always something that I have wanted to be,” Don’t Watch Me Play stated.

    Welcome to the Kingdom

Cory was inspired to start his own YouTube Channel playing video games after participating in the web series, The Gauntlet. On YouTube, Cory was originally known for playing a lot of rage games and his unwavering devotion to play until he won earned him the nickname the Stubborn King and his community the Stubborn Kingdom. “Two years later I just really wanted to branch out more, and my main mission was to try and get the channel to grow,” he recalled.

    Time For Some Ice Breakers

The goal of joining Twitch was not only to grow in numbers, but to become more personable. “Twitch was more of an opening to just play video games and look at the camera because the chat is lined up perfectly behind it,” Cory described. “I can actually look at you and speak to you at the same time, so it was more of a mutual conversation between me and you while we are all in the chat.” The streaming website allowed the Stubborn King to talk and be interactive with his kingdom. “There is nothing cooler than almost feeling like you are actually hanging out with all these people,” he described. “When you are playing a horror game together you can actually interact and enjoy that jump scare together and talk about it”

“If You’re Not Having Fun, You’re Doing Something Wrong.” – Groucho Marx

From YouTube to Twitch, Don’t Watch Me Play’s mission to bring joy and entertainment to viewers has remained the same. The goal is for everyone to have a great time and to feel included. “As long as the viewer is having an amazing time, whether they are there for five minutes or if they are there for seven to eight hours that’s what it really comes down to,” Cory confessed. “As long as you can really have fun that’s all that matters to me and that’s all I ever want.” For the Stubborn King, there is nothing he enjoys more than hanging out with his community. “I just want to be amongst my friends and newcomers, and that’s a heck of a driving point of the streaming is the community,” he shared.

    Valentine’s Day Charity Stream

Dreamscape Foundation in honored to partner with Don’t Watch Me Play for a Valentine’s Day Charity Stream this Sunday, February 14, from 1 pm – 8 pm EST. Join the Stubborn King and the Stubborn Kingdom to raise money to improve the lives of individuals living with physical disabilities. Get ready to expect the unexpected with this variety streamer. In his own words, “Grab the crown, celebrate, do some muscle kisses, just have a great time. You know what I mean? You just got to have fun with it.”

Interview with Bill Wagner, Sportswriter at The Game Haus

Interview with Bill Wagner, Sportswriter at The Game Haus

We at Dreamscape can never predict the amount of support we will receive. A recent successful fundraiser, hosted by Sierra, MissSunshyne, was a mix of effort and passion! After raising a whopping $2,000 for Anita Rutland, we saw an influx of what we like to call “Sharing The Dream”. This is how we connected with Bill Wagner, one of our donors during the event, and an online journalist who writes for The Game Haus. We reached out to Bill to learn more about his interesting background.

    What is The Game Haus?

Sports and Video Games draw similarities because they both come down to the same question: ‘Do you enjoy the competition?’ That’s where The Game Haus comes, to bridge the gap. TGH was established to provide viewers & readers with an unbiased outlook on everything sports while providing facts that you normally wouldn’t find anywhere else. With the help of skilled and passionate journalists like Bill, TGH is able to provide the most live story developments in both sports and eSports. (Video Game Competitions) To give you a better idea to what types of news they report on, just check out some recent headlines: Overwatch League All-Stars, Pokemon: Metagame Analysis, Timberwolves Begin Coach Search and 2019 NBA Draft Lottery Results. That’s just the start! No matter your preference, there is content there for everybody. From podcasts and interviews to articles and video clips, they have reported on everything!

What does a Sportswriter know about Video Games?

We can all agree Bill has a long history in the world of sports but what makes him a credible video game reporter? This story hits closer to home for the journalist. Wagner has always played games, here and there when he could, but when he and his son went to Twitchcon together, it changed his entire perspective. It started as an excuse to spend more time with his son, and they both enjoy their shared interest. Bill reminisced when they used to play old Gameboy games together, collecting all of the Pokemon. While at Twitchcon together, they came across the game Destiny 2 and downloaded the loot-shooter game once back at home. It wasn’t until Bill’s son decided to buy him new downloadable content to play together, that Bill realized he had a new way to bond with his son.   His interest started booming as a writer when he decided to go to the Evolution Championship Series (Evo) 2017. (A video game tournament held in Las Vegas, NV every year) While there, Wagner piqued an interest in content creating but did not really know where to start. One thing he did realize, was that eSports needed more content. While he still struggles with speaking, he shares that “there is more than one way to tell a story.” Bill uses his strengths in writing, along with experience in video editing to avert his weakness. He focuses only on his strengths so that quality content will consistently surface. When visiting Las Vegas, he decided to interview as many people as he could, some streaming on his Twitter. Using the interviews as resources, he gathered a few articles sharing what he deems Good Stories! That type of confidence and resourcefulness is one reason why The Game Haus has Bill on board! What started off as a small idea, has now attracted global attention.  Today, Bill can say “I do mean world… I’ve talked to people in Zambia, Russia, China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil” Wagner continues, “We just talk about who they are and what they do, gaming and all that.”

    Your Background is Everything

We noticed when speaking with Bill, that he is a person who follows his dreams, no matter where they may take them. Graduating college in 1995, Bill went on to work retail for a handful of years, shortly thereafter becoming a Blackjack Dealer. During this time, the now video game journalist also began working part-time as an umpire in Softball, Basketball, and Soccer. At the moment, Bill’s main focus is his work as a writer and interviewer for The Game Haus.

One of Bill’s favorite moments came April 26, in 2008. The game Wagner was umpiring was a Fastpitch Softball game near his house, Central Washington University against Western Oregon. The sequence of events started when Sara Tucholsky of Western Oregon hit her very first career home run. The story goes: In the excitement, Tucholsky missed first base. The first base coach yells at her to turn around and touch the base. In that moment, Sara’s knee twisted so uncomfortably that she tore her ACL. Any sports fan can tell you that this injury could be a career end-er. Not being able to get up to finish her run around the bases, Sara must have thought she couldn’t finish the home run. This is when two players from Central Washington picked up the seriously-injured girl to help carry her around the bases. They made sure to touch her healthy leg on each base, so that Tucholsky can finish her first career home run.

As the official umpire of the game, Bill was caught off guard. “What should I do?” he thought, “I guess this is okay, I don’t see anything wrong about this.” Bill’s spur of the moment thought process let this beautiful moment happen. The video eventually went so viral, that Bill got interviewed by Sports Illustrated! Wagner states that this moment was, “the greatest show of sportsmanship ever displayed.” We couldn’t agree more! Bill repeats that the fun of friendly competition has helped him in ways he could never imagine. Living most of his life with a speech impediment, he had a hard time communicating early on. During his time umpiring, he found some interactions difficult, especially when he needed to communicate with coaches and players. After some time though, Bill explained that he has “picked up some tools on how to deal with it on an effective basis.” He went on to say, “The funny thing about all that is when I’m on the court or field I really don’t have a problem!” His passion for the game partnered with the fast-paced tempo keeps Bill focused and acting upon instinct while minimizing the effects of his speech impediment. In conclusion, Bill is someone who loves what he does.  Despite his speech impediment, he does not let anything stop him from who he wants to be. Whether that be a loving father, a game journalist, or a passionate sports official. You are in control of your destiny!
