Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as an initiative to kick off the giving spirit during the holiday season. However, why wait until once a year to embrace your ability to make an impact? Here at Dreamscape Foundation, we believe every day is a new opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.

That’s why we celebrate #GivingTuesday every Tuesday, giving our supporters fresh incentives to donate to Dreamscape Foundation and its cause. These incentives will vary depending upon your donation, from shoutouts to merch and more.

What is Dreamscape Foundation?

Dreamscape Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to making life more accessible to disabled individuals whose lives are inhibited by low vision or blindness. Founded by Joe Sehwani, this philanthropist lost his vision at a young age to a condition known as Leber Hereditary Ocular Neuropathy (LHON).

Through his experiences, he discovered firsthand how inaccessible the world can be for disabled individuals. Determined not to let his own lack of vision slow him down, he wanted to empower others to do the same by making schools, businesses, and everyday life more accessible.

Thus, Dreamscape was born with a mission rooted in making accessibility possible for individuals and communities. Each year, the nonprofit invests in technology, awareness, and research to help improve the lives of individuals with blindness or low vision. The end goal is to ensure that disabled persons have the technology they need to embrace life to its fullest.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that began on social media in 2012. Officially held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, its purpose was to invite people to get involved with and give to the organizations or charities they’re passionate about as they embraced the season’s spirit of giving.
